D & S History:
Following graduation from the Music Technology Program in 2002, Darryl Fabiani began his first entrepreneurial venture, “Fabiani’s Piano Tuning & Moving”. In 2005, Darryl collaborated with Steve Grega, one of Canada’s finest piano restorers, to partner as D & S Pianos and include piano restoration services. As their reputation in the industry continued to grow, they needed a larger space to operate D & S Pianos. Accepted as an authorized dealer of Yamaha Pianos, D & S opened a retail store on Hyde Park Road, London Ontario, in 2007, enabling expansion for a piano showroom.
Celebrating seven more years of growth, D & S expanded its Hyde Park Rd location to include a music school with qualified teachers in piano, voice, strings and percussion. Now in high demand to supply, tune, move, and set up Yamaha pianos for high-profile concerts and music festivals across the peninsula, D & S expanded once again, adding a second, larger vehicle that enabled transport of concert grands.
Tragedy struck June 30, 2016, when a fire completely destroyed the Hyde Park location. D & S Pianos’ community partner, Aeolian Hall, reached out and temporarily housed D & S operations out of Bishop Cronyn/Aeolian. Thanks to the Aeolian’s support, D & S was able to continue providing its patrons with tunings, smaller repairs and moving services during this transitional period.
Darryl is excited to announce that D & S Pianos has reopened with an even larger piano showroom, including a repair centre, at its new location in Komoka, Ontario.
